Pewsey and District Link

Who Are We?

We are a charity working within our local community to provide transport for people to get to their GP surgery, to hospital appointments or to make other essential trips. All our drivers are volunteers, using their own vehicles. We can take you shopping or to the hairdresser too, but we give priority to medical appointments. Our driver will pick you up from home in plenty of time to get you to your appointment, then wait for you to take you back home afterwards.

Who Do We Help?

Anyone from Pewsey or the surrounding villages who needs essential transport, with the proviso that you must be able to make your own way to the vehicle and get into it unassisted.

Our area covers Pewsey, the Altons, Beechingstoke, Burbage, Easton Royal, Honeystreet, Huish, the Manningfords, Milton Lilbourne, North Newnton, Oare, Stanton St Bernard, Wilcot, Woodborough, and Wootton Rivers.

How much does it cost?

That's up to you! We are a charity so we don't make a charge, but we ask you, if you can afford it, to make a donation that will help to cover our costs. We reimburse our volunteer drivers at the rate of 45p per mile, and you can ask your driver to give you an idea of the mileage for the journey, if you want to make a donation at a similar rate. But what you give us is entirely at your discretion.

How much notice do you need if I want to use Link?

As much as you can give us! We are staffed by volunteers, so we won't always be able to find you a driver at short notice. Telephone us on 07899 484561 between 9am and 6pm to find out if our co-ordinator can help.

Can I become a volunteer driver for you?

Yes, please! We are always looking for new volunteers, as drivers or co-ordinators. You will need to go through a DBS check first, which we will arrange for you, as you will be helping vulnerable people. If you become a driver we will cover mileage expenses at the rate of 45p per mile.
